During your initial visit to our showroom (or via telephone) a project manager will be assigned to assist you throughout your entire project. We will need a simple sketch as well as the jobsite address so that an accurate estimate may be prepared for you. The drawing does not need to be to scale and dimensions can be rounded to the nearest inch. If you need help taking dimensions, a project manager can meet you at your home if requested. The next step is to make an appointment with your project manager who will go over the details of your project, answer any questions and assist you with material selection. Ripano Stoneworks has over 500 full slabs in stock to choose from as well as a very large selection of remnants for vanities, fireplaces and other small projects. Once the material is selected, details are finalized and cost is agreed upon, the final sales contract is signed and a 50% deposit is obtained. The next step is to schedule a field template appointment.
- Scheduling
-
Template/Installation Date: Once the sales contract has been finalized and 50% deposit has been made, Ripano Stoneworks will phone the homeowner/contractor/designer to schedule the template appointment. The date of installation will remain tentative until after the template has been completed and when there are no outstanding questions that require follow up. All template and installation appointments are scheduled with an arrival time that falls within a 3-hour arrival window. Template & install appointments are scheduled during normal business hours, Monday-Friday.
Re-scheduling: We request at least (1) business day notice to re-schedule a template. Installation re-scheduling typically requires (3) days notice. All template and install scheduling should be communicated directly to our scheduler, Shawn Bourgeault at 603-886-6655 x201 or shawn@ripano.com - Preparation for Template

Unless otherwise stated on your proposal, all quoted surfaces are to be templated in one trip. If any portion of the project will not be ready at the same time as the rest of the project, please contact your project manager for the cost calculation of an additional trip.
Cabinetry Preparation: All cabinetry and end panels must be completely and permanently installed prior to the date countertops are scheduled to be templated. It is the responsibility of the homeowner and/or contractor to ensure that the cabinets are plumb, level, square as well as secured to the walls and/or floor. The countertop must lie flat within 1/8" to eliminate stress on the corners, cut-outs and seams. Cabinets that will rest on top of the countertop (i.e. appliance garage, etc.) must be installed after the installation of the countertop.
Removal of existing countertops and appliances: Removal of your existing countertops is not necessary prior to the template date. However, all countertops, backsplashes, sinks and cook tops must be completely disconnected and removed from the cabinetry prior to the date of installation. In most cases, the removal and disposal of countertops can be completed by Ripano Stoneworks the same day as your new counter installation, minimizing disruption to your normal routine. Your project manager can provide you with an estimate for this optional service.
Sinks, faucets and cooktops: Sinks must be on site prior to the template appointment. Farmer’s sinks, apron front sinks and cast iron sinks MUST be permanently installed within the cabinetry prior to the template date. All other sinks will be brought back to Ripano Stoneworks for fabrication. Additionally, all faucets, soap dispensers, hot/cold water dispensers and cook tops must be at the job site prior to the template date.
Template sign off: The homeowner or designated decision-maker MUST be present at the time of measuring/templating. This person will be responsible for approving all the details of the countertop. The field template supersedes all previously provided dimensions.
Change Orders: If any changes to the original proposal are made at this time (Example: additional cabinet added, edge profile change) a change order will be submitted for your approval. Please be advised that certain changes such as these may cause delays in fabrication and your installation date.
Additional Trip Charges: If the templater arrives at the job site and ALL of the conditions outlined above are not met the field template and subsequent installation date will be rescheduled and additional trip charges may be assessed. - Preparation for Installation

Access: Natural Stone and Quartz countertops are extremely heavy! Please have a clear path from your driveway to your kitchen so that our crews can safely access your home. Please have walkways free of ice, snow and clutter. Please alert your project manager if the install will take place above the first level of the home and will require the use of stairs or an elevator.
Appliances: All appliances including dishwashers, stoves and refrigerators, MUST be in place at the time of installation.
Adequate support for overhangs: There are two rules of thumb with regard to countertop overhang and both must be met for every counter. (1) The maximum allowable unsupported overhang is 12”. (2) The unsupported overhang portion of the counter cannot exceed 1/3 of the total counter width. All support brackets and corbels must be installed prior to the installation. Ripano does not build supporting structures or install brackets; this is the responsibility of the homeowner or their contractor.
Incidental Damage: Final wall preparation (i.e. painting, wall papering, etc.) should not be completed prior to installation if at all possible. Ripano Stonework’s installers exercise extreme care during countertop installation; however, scrapes, punctures or dings to wall surfaces may sometimes occur.
Seams: Placement of all seams that may be required will be at the discretion of Ripano Stoneworks. Our Slab Smith software program will assist our programmers in providing the most aesthetically pleasing seam positioning, however, please be advised that seams in natural and engineered stone products are always visible.
Backsplash Installation: Projects that include full height backsplash are typically scheduled as two separate installations. When the countertops are installed, exact measurements for the full height backsplash are taken by the installation crew. The backsplash will be installed on a separate trip, generally 2-4 working days later. Upper cabinets and range hood/microwave combinations must be installed prior to measuring for the full height backsplash. This process allows for the best fit.
Cancellation/Returns: If an order is cancelled prior to templating a full refund will be offered less any material restocking fees that may apply. If an order is canceled after templating a full refund will be offered less the cost of the template appointment and any material restocking fees that apply.
Cleanup: Installation of a countertop is a construction process and some residual dust should be expected.
